A Layering Tutorial

Jeans and Shoes | Newlook. Camouflage Jacket and Bag | Topshop.  Green Jacket | Army Surplus. Shirt | Next

So....I've been wanting to try out some layering for a while and by layering I mean physically grabbing everything in my wardrobe, throwing them all on and seeing what works. After much consideration I figured these two camo/army jackets worked well together. Agree?
Other options included dresses over jeans, skirts over trousers and layering winter coats with denim ones. I added an oversized white shirt (borrowed from the boyfriend, sorry Mark I will one day stop raiding your wardrobe) skinny blue jeans, a very large black bag and simple strappy heels. The perfect outfit for Saturday morning Lattes.
My love for layering may have come from the queen of layering Leandra Medine of 'the man repeller'. I don't know what it is but she always makes it work. Have in mind she has a wardrobe to die for, mines still growing in size, shape and colour!
Keep posted....next time I plan on layering my whole wardrobe or at least all my favourite pieces.

Say it with DENIM

I am a little disappointed to say the least with this weather we have been having. For goodness sake its March and snow hasn't graced my path yet! *sighs loudly. Yes some may be be loving the warmer Winter weather we have been having, but I love nothing more than getting wrapped up and going for a windy walk and feeling the freezing cold air on my skin.
This may be to do with the fact that my wardrobe consists of mainly Winter clothing, I own so many hats and scarfs I've lost count and I'm so pale I need a spray tan before going on Holiday.
Anyway less of my cynicism.
One of my all time favourite Trends is back this S|S14 (although I'm not really sure it ever left), with ultra cool, dare I say jealous style, DENIM!!!
I already own a few pieces, that will be reappearing this Summer so keep posted for them.
I spent the last two hours of my evening trying to find more amazing denim pieces that I just have to have. My favourites have to be the Camo Jeans, T-Shirt dress and A-Line skirt. There's something totally cool about denim, dressed up or down. I love wearing my Skinny's with a hoody and heels, or a simple tee and trainers work so well too.
I've always loved Denim on Denim (this can be visible on my Instagram feed!) and this season its huge. Last Summer saw me donning a denim dress over jeans weekly, at last this Summer I may not look like something from a 90's movie after all
Enjoy.

So it's July and the weekend is set to be hot and sunny (finally). I'm probably about to jinx it with what I'm about to say, but I'm so excited for the Autumn/Winter 13 trend reports.

It seems like forever since the Autumn/Winter 2013 shows back in February but now I can finally tell you the trend reports are out!
As you already know the Autumn/ Winter season is my favourite, the colours, the textures I'm head over heels in LOVE with it all. Enjoy

The Rebel at Saint Laurent and Chanel - Leather jackets, chunky boots and lots of attitude.

The Boy Girl at Stella McCartney and Rag and Bone - Oversized coats and wide leg trousers (check out the cute little hats from Stella McCartney's A/W13 collection, I'm in LOVE).

The Romantic at Givenchy and Alexander McQueen - Historical Queen with printed jewel coloured fabrics and lace head dresses.

The Maximalist at Tom Ford and Fendi - Think a clash of sequins, fur and gorgeous embroidery.

S/S13 Trend Notes: WHITE ON WHITE

Givenchy, Alexander Wang and Chloe S/S13

As the Spring/Summer season is now upon us I thought I'd bring you another trend which was seen all over the S/S13 catwalks.
WHITE......a daring trend, but chic, classic and effortless. Many designers chose white in their collection this spring, but all different from one another.

Chloe created pure white designs with added flounce to dress hemlines and to blouse sleeves along with soft structure and lots of femininity.

At Marni we saw lots of layers and a very beautiful oversized peplum. Stunning V necks flowed effortlessly over models and the pristine white shorts they wore.

White separates with beautiful textures graced the catwalk at Mulberry. The classic tuxedo in gorgeous soft but crisp white fabric and a 1970's twist, the playsuit with lace and print detail.

If your like me and could probably not survive the day in top to toe white without spilling something on it. Just add a crisp white shirt to trousers, jeans or a skirt. I recently purchased a the most beautiful detailed white shirt.
